Reconnecting the Forth & Clyde and Union Canals between Glasgow and Edinburgh.  The Falkirk Wheel is the centerpiece to the Millennium Link canal project.  Boat trips begin in the basin outside The Falkirk Wheel Visitor Centre.

On the edge of the Highlands, overlooking the Forth Valley. There are lovely walks along the three, well signposted forest trails which begin from the Visitor Centre. There are miles of waymarked forest trails in Loch Ard forest and Achray forest.

Lake of Menteith is reputed to be the best location for fly fishing for rainbow trout and brown trout in Central Scotland.

Set on an island in the Lake of Menteith, Inchmahome is an idyllically-situated Augustinian monastery dating from 1238. Much of the 13th century building remains.  There is a wide range of plant and wildlife on the island.  Board the ferry right next to the hotel for a short ten minute crossing to the Island.

The steamboats do not run until the spring but there is still plenty to do at Loch Katrine.  Rent a bike for 1 or 2 hours - for a half day (4hrs) or a full day (8hrs).  Children’s and Adults Bikes, Tandems and Trailers (2 wheels/2 seats) are all available.
